Cubs Fans Attempt To Move Forward [Critically Acclaimed]

Critically Acclaimed is a daily collection of today’s blog posts we suggest you read…

I’ve yet to form any coherent thought about the Cubs other than ‘pathetic’ since the NLDS debacle. Someday soon I’ll hopefully put my opinions together. In the meantime, at least other fans are completely laughing at us. There’s a quite a few who naturally feel bad for us endlessly hopeful sorts. [Mouthpiece blog]

Heisman Trophy talk really will finally be worthwhile after this weekend when many of the top candidates (read: Big 12 quarterbacks) face their first big challenges all season. However, If you’re looking for a status update on the race, you need not look any further than the Heisman Pundit who has Chase Daniel in the driver’s seat. Clearly, I’m a Javon Ringer fan but don’t confuse that with my belief he should be a part of this conversation. We’ll wait until the Spartans face Ohio State to assess his merits. [Heisman Pundit]

I continue to be disappointed that I haven’t gotten a chance to watch Georgia Tech in action this year. Paul Johnson’s triple option attack has worked well, and you’d have to consider the Yellow Jackets a threat to win the ACC. That’s more than you can say for Chan Gailey’s teams. Anyways, Orson Swindle was on hand this weekened and has come to some EDSBS-like conclusions. [Every Day Should Be Saturday]

Chase Daniel pictured with Warren Buffet. Honest. That and many eye opening observations from the college football weekend. [Deadspin]

A football coach has smacked an 11-year-old kid in the head in a post-game handshake. Also known as Wednesday. God bless America. [Sports by Brooks]

Fantasy football Brian Westbrook owners, the news continues to be unfavorable. Westbrook fractured two ribs against the Redskins, in addition to his previous high ankle sprain. Ouch. [RealClearSports]

Lastly, there’s actually a “Jeff Reed Show.” I find this frightening. If anyone has been a witness to this carnage, and he kept his clothes on, I’d be interesting in knowing what exactly is discussed. [Jeff Reed Show]
